The word of God has been unequivocal in its stress on social action as part of practical virtue and as religious duty divinely ordained. Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, during His earthly life, exemplified this abiding concern through his practice, parables, and preaching. Jesus openly declared that His mission was to heal the sick, rescue the lost, and save the doomed.
